“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives – choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”

PASSION, INTEGRITY, EXPERIENCE
I have over 17 years experience in Athlete Development and Coaching, working with individuals, teams, and coaches of all levels from recreational right up to elite level.
I hold an honours degree in Sports Science from Brunel University, London and a Masters in Strength and Conditioning from St Mary’s University, London. I am always keen on improving my knowledge and keeping up to date with current research and ‘best practice’. Alongside my formal education I attend many conferences and mentorship programs.
I have experienced that player development journey which started as a teenager at regional level and culminated in representing the Cork Senior Gaelic Football team for many seasons. Many honors were achieved with the highlights being the Senior All Ireland Championship win and All Star award in 2010.
This journey is on going as i still represent my club, Clyda Rovers at senior club level, and I get great satisfaction in training and competing at a high level. I also feel this provides me with a unique insight as I can continue my coaching journey.

“With the right preparation & attitude you are capable of anything”
I have had the opportunity to work with variety of senior inter county teams over the last number of years which has provided me with great development and experiences. Similar as when I was a player I have got to meet and learn from so many different people and backgrounds.
This would involve GAA coaches, trainers, strength & conditioning coaches, sports science personnel, physiotherapists, sports psychologists, and academic researchers. These people have had massive impact on my development, and of whom I learnt a huge amount. It is those experiences that help guide my training approach today.
